Top Eight Things to Do on a Bermuda Honeymoon

When planning time after your wedding, you cannot go wrong choosing a Bermuda honeymoon.  In addition to the relaxing atmosphere, legendary pink sandy beaches, breathtaking flowers, crystal-clear blue waters, and friendly locals, Bermuda is an interesting place to honeymoon with many things to see and do.  Interestingly, while many people consider Bermuda a part of the Caribbean, the truth is that it is actually too far to the north to be connected.

While on a Bermuda honeymoon, you will discover it is actually comprised of more than 150 tiny islands and islets in the Atlantic.  Although many of these islands are uninhabited, the 10 largest are and they are all linked by bridges and causeways.  Because of this, the mainland of Bermuda measures approximately 21 square miles.  Although not large, it is large enough to have an incredible time while enjoying the small, charming ambience of Bermuda.

We wanted to provide you with the top eight things you can do while on your Bermuda honeymoon although there are many additional opportunities based on personal preference.

  1. Beach Time – Of course, no Bermuda honeymoon would be complete without spending time on the beach.  Bermuda is famous for having pink colored sand and with temperatures lingering around 80 degrees from May through October, you can enjoy time outdoors without burning up.

  2. Golf – Without doubt, one of the most popular activities people enjoy while on a Bermuda honeymoon or simply vacationing is golf.  With more golf courses per square mile than any other place in the entire world, you will certainly find several courses perfect for your skill level.

  3. Tennis – Another popular sport in Bermuda is tennis.  Many of the nicer hotels and resorts have tennis courts or you could choose from a public court to enjoy a great game, day or night.

  4. Sightseeing – When on your Bermuda honeymoon, remember that there are no car rentals as a means of protecting the environment.  However, you can find moped rentals all over the island.  This is a great way to enjoy the beautiful scenery and quaint shops found on the island.

  5. Shopping – People that take a Bermuda honeymoon also love to shop.  Of course, you need to make a few purchases as mementoes of this special trip, as well as gifts for loved ones back home.  Bermuda offers charming shops that sell everything imaginable to include leather goods, porcelain, crystal, jewelry, perfume, and more.  The best place for duty-free shops is on Front Street although other locations exist.

  6. Dining – With the local food being so exquisite, you definitely need to experience some of the local establishments.  For starters, you can enjoy afternoon tea and cookies at the Hamilton Princess Hotel, which is simply gorgeous and a place where many Americans gather.  For an affordable but delicious meal, we recommend Dark and Stormy’s.

  7. Bermuda Botanical Gardens – To learn about the amazing flora, this garden is well worth a visit.  It first opened in 1898 and today, it remains a popular tourist attraction.  Just a few of the things the garden offers includes a flowering hibiscus garden, Banyan and Ficus tree garden, rose garden, and even a sensory garden for people with little to no sight.

  8. Swimming with the Dolphins – You can even spend time on your Bermuda honeymoon enjoying time swimming with Bottlenose Dolphins at the Royal Naval Dockyard.  With professional animal trainers, you would have the opportunity to interact with these amazing creatures.
